The Blog Story – Part Four – This Blog

On Ash Wednesday this year, after some consultation with Scott Hiney at our church about how to actually create a blog site, I launched Devotedfollower.com. It is an aspirational title, not something I believe I have or ever will perfect. To say the blog started fitfully is a huge understatement. I think I’ve only written five entries. I went through a lot during Lent, which was “behind the scenes” spiritual stuff that had to happen for me really to be able to write it. So while in fact I didn’t really write the blog during Lent, it began during Lent, and now I’ll be writing it.

Don’t look for daily posts. Do look for spiritual themes, and my understanding and/or questions about God and God-things. I am not a theologian. I took some religion classes in college, and for all four years of college I was part of what was then called the Centenary School of Church Careers, at Centenary College of Louisiana. I study quite a bit, and I promise I will never write something about God that just popped into my head (unless I tell you it just popped into my head). This blog will be grounded in Scripture. It will consist of what I’m learning as I continue to seek to follow Jesus, things I’m passionate about, things that I feel God is putting on my heart to write. Hopefully, doing this will help me become a more devoted follower of Jesus, and it is my prayer that it will inspire its readers to do the same.
