Do the Important Thing First

I can be such an idiot.  I woke up this morning with a to-do list, as usual.  What’s different is that is actually a do-able list!  If I’d just get started, I can realistically accomplish the whole thing. But I also want to have quiet time, especially to process Easter and what I learned and experienced during Lent.  I was SO tempted to skip my quiet time and just get to doing my tasks.  THEN I’d have time to really enjoy my quiet time.  Here’s the insight…If my quiet time is so important that I really need to get to the tasks so I can THEN have a good, focused quiet time, WHY DON’T I JUST GO AHEAD AND DO THE QUIET TIME FIRST???

I’m laughing out loud as I’m realizing what an idiot I am…Has it really taken 17 years of pretty focused spiritual devotion to figure this out? I’m so glad I serve a patient God.
